The IPaM Evolve Program
Last year we decided to take the leap and immerse our company into the WorkSafe QLD IPaM (Injury Prevention and Management) Evolve Program. After completing a number of contracts with councils and large construction companies it was apparent that safety was a huge factor in getting these contracts and having processes in place was of high importance to them.
So in order to keep ourselves ahead of the pack and in front of our competitors we enlisted ourselves into the IPaM Evolve Program. Jasmine LOVE from Worksafe QLD was our appointed Advisor and she began us on our journey of Work, Health and Safety Policies.
The program as a whole took us approximately 1 year in total. Developing policies and implementing procedures and toolbox talks along with hazard registers and first aid implementations all became part of our business. It was a great experience and I’m not one for the whole Health & Safety side of things but this is actually a little bit more then that. When you own your own business and you have people working for you, then you have a responsibility not only to those people but the people around you as well. Its all about covering your backside and making sure you have processes in place to reduce injury. And this is where this program is perfect for those Mum s & Dad businesses.
